The premise

Beyond the Battlefield is a podcast created and hosted by Ankur Pancholi, exploring the Bhagavad Gita through modern leadership, decision-making and human experience.

It begins with someone
who cannot decide.

The Bhagavad Gita begins with a capable human being unable to act. Arjuna is standing on a battlefield, but his conflict reaches inward: duty, fear, identity, attachment, relationships and consequences.

Thousands of years later, the setting has changed. It may be a boardroom, a career decision, a family conflict, a leadership crisis or the private uncertainty inside our own mind.

Beyond the Battlefield explores that ancient conversation with the patience its questions deserve. The Gita is not reduced to a set of techniques. Its ideas become an invitation to examine how we actually live.

The origin

Why I created
Beyond the Battlefield.

Ankur

I did not begin exploring the Bhagavad Gita because I was looking for a leadership framework.

I began because many of the hardest questions I encountered in leadership were not really business questions. They were human questions.

How do you make a decision when every option carries consequences? How do you remain ambitious without becoming consumed by outcomes? How do you lead people without letting authority become identity?

What happens when knowledge is not enough to create transformation? What does responsibility mean when so much is outside our control?

And now there is another question: as artificial intelligence becomes capable of more of what we once considered uniquely human, what actually remains human?

The Bhagavad Gita does not give us a list of management techniques. It begins with confusion. With paralysis. With an intelligent, accomplished person saying, in effect: “I don’t know what to do.”

That is why Beyond the Battlefield exists. It is my attempt to explore this ancient conversation as a mirror for the decisions, attachments, ambitions, fears and identities we live with today.
